Through the Georgia Pediatric Program, DMHC is able to offer in-home care for children and young adults under the age of 21 with no out of pocket expense to the family.
What Is GAPP?
What Is GAPP?
GAPP stands for Georgia Pediatric Program. It is a Medicaid program that provides services to medically fragile children under the age of 21 in need of skilled nursing care and personal care support in their homes.
This program was designed to assist parents with their child’s daily life needs. Services would include bathing, feeding assistance, grooming, dressing, administration of medication, etc. A licensed professional will provide the care.
DMHC is committed to enhancing our client’s life through GAPP services. If your child is under 21 and needs assistance with daily living activities, they may qualify to receive in-home care at no out of pocket cost to the family.
Services offered through GAPP for children and young adults in need of in-home care include:
- Medication Administration
- Hygiene Care
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Taking of Vital Signs
- Wheelchair Assistance
- Collection of Treatment Plan Information
Turn or Reposition Assistance
- Changing of Sheets and Bed Linens
- Observation
- Communicate Issues to Nurse or Doctor
- Assistance With Daily Living Activities
- Trach Care (Including Changing and Cleaning)
Gastrostomy Tube Care (Including Tube Feeding, Cleaning, Changing)
- Bagging via Trach or Mouth
- Respiratory Treatment
- Suctioning
There is no waitlist for this program. Intakes and evaluations typically take up to 30 days for service approval. Upon approval, your child will immediately receive services. Parents are involved with the service plan of treatment including any service goals.
